The Mix 2020: Thanks for Your Support!

On February 8th, we gathered at A’bulae in St. Paul with some of our favorite people to party for a good cause at The Mix.

We had so much fun mingling, enjoying fantastic food and cocktails, dancing to High & Mighty Band, and bidding in the silent and live auction hosted by our Emcee/Auctioneer Emily Engberg!

Our team is thrilled to announce that the event raised $95,015 for charity! 🎉 We’re so grateful and humbled by this outpour of generosity.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported us, made this event possible, and helped us give back to Make-A-Wish Minnesota, Spare Key, Bridging, Woodbury Community Foundation, and Custom One Charities in a HUGE way!

From our sponsors (listed below) to attendees to our incredible team and dedicated committee, it took a village to pull this off!

November Blanket Drive Results

In November, Custom One Homes /Custom One Charities took part in a blanket drive hosted by Bridging to collect new and gently used blankets for those in need. Each year, Bridging serves over 80 Twin Cities families as they transition from homelessness into homes and provides over 13,000 blankets. Knowing that every little bit helps, we were thrilled to participate and give back.

The blanket drive, held from November 1st through November 30th, was a huge success! We collected over 80 blankets, and Custom One Charities matched the donations with 100 pillows. Thank you to everyone who donated and a special shout out to Kristie Anderson and Trinity Lutheran Church for donating 100 pounds of blankets. We are so grateful for all of your support as we give back to our community.

Giving Back Together in 2019: Grateful

As 2019 comes to a close and we plan for 2020, we want to pause and thank everyone who helped us give back this year. Together, we accomplished so much in 2019! From raising awareness for fantastic local organizations to fundraising at our annual golf tournament to granting wishes for Make-A-Wish to growing our volunteer base, it’s been a massive year of growth for Custom One Charities.

Looking towards 2020, we see even more exciting events and goals on the horizon! In February, we’re kicking off the New Year with The Mix, a party with a purpose! We’re also hosting our golf tournament again this next summer, adding more dedicated members to our board of directors, and continuing to build strong relationships that impact our community.

We would be remiss if we didn’t thank everyone who’s contributed to the success of Custom One Charities in 2019. Thank you to our staff for putting in the time and effort to make these events happen! Thank you to our vendors, partners, and suppliers who tirelessly support us. Thank you to our volunteers who give their time and resources. And finally, thank to our clients – none of this would be possible without all of you!

Giving Back: Granting Leo’s Wish

As we enter the last few months of the year, we’ve begun to reflect on some of our favorite moments of 2019. Our team loves giving back to the community, so it’s no surprise that our most cherished moments revolve around helping others. In addition to raising funds for local charities and organizations, one of our favorite ways to give back is by partnering with our friends at Make-A-Wish Minnesota to grant wishes for children and families undergoing big challenges.

In October, we had the pleasure of meeting 3-year-old Leo at his Disney themed wish party. It was such a joy to spend the afternoon with Leo and his sweet family and surprise them with a trip to Disney World! Thank you to Make-A-Wish Minnesota and our team for making this special day come together. Scroll below for a glimpse at this heartwarming afternoon!

Granting Matt’s Wish

As the end of 2017 draws near, we’ve been reflecting on our highlights as a company over the past year. By far, our greatest joy was partnering with our friends at Make-A-Wish Minnesota to grant wishes for local children and families facing big challenges.

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of meeting a fantastic nine-year-old named Matt and his sweet family. After being diagnosed with brain cancer, Matt’s past year has been spent in and out of hospitals and chemo treatments.

Recently, Matt and his family received amazing news: his last scans were clear! It was our honor to help them celebrate by surprising Matt with a trip to Legoland California. We don’t think there was a dry eye in the house when Matt’s Lego and gift card scavenger hunt ended with the big reveal.

To give you an even clearer picture of how special this family is, in the midst of their hard year, they’ve decided to pay it forward. They want other people to experience the power of giving this Christmas and will be buying gifts for hospitalized children instead of buying each other presents. What a beautiful example of generosity and Christmas spirit!

Relive this heartwarming day with us in the photos below. Thank you to our friend Jill of Simply Viewed Creative for capturing each moment with care!

Make-A-Wish: Kelly’s Murder Mystery Luau

We’ve written previously about our ongoing partnership with Make-A-Wish Minnesota. In 2017, we had the distinct honor of helping send Andy to Disney World and Matt to Legoland!

Recently, we had the pleasure of meeting a young woman named Kelly and her family. Our entire team (and quite a few partners and friends) gathered together to throw Kelly a Murder Mystery Luau.

However, instead of the big reveal merely being a who-done-it, we got to send Kelly off on the Hawaiian vacation of her dreams! Enabling a deserving family to make lifetime memories – that’s our kind of community investment.

Want to see more of our celebration with Kelly, or see our staff fully garbed in grass skirts and Hula gear? Check out a few of our favorite shots from the day below! Thanks to our photographer, Rachel Lea, for capturing all the fun.

And last but not least, thanks to our fantastic team for all pitching in and always being game to look silly for a good cause. Finally, thank you to our own Julie Newton for heading up planning this excellent, fun-filled afternoon!
