7844 Glen Crest Woodbury, MN 55129
June 8-10, 15-17, & 22-24 from Noon – 6pm

The Twin Cities Parade of Homes Artisan Home Tour begins this Friday afternoon, and we couldn’t be more excited! After months of hard work from our talented team and our incredible partners, it’s finally time to open the doors and welcome visitors.

This stunning two-story home immediately greets you with bright natural light, high ceilings, and warm wood accents. The main level centers around the sophisticated but cozy living room, which opens up into the magnificent kitchen any chef would envy!

Anchored by an oversized island with a waterfall Cambria countertop and surrounded by top-of-the-line appliances, the kitchen is equally pretty and practical. The space effortlessly flows into the adjacent dining room, dry bar, screened porch, and outdoor grilling deck.

Upstairs there’s plenty of room for private, relaxed family time. From the luxurious master suite to a fun bonus room to an organized laundry room to three family bedrooms, everyone has a space of their own.

The walkout lower level was designed for an active and busy family with a sport court (with its own drinking fountain!), rubber-floored exercise room, and a family room that’s party-ready.

Design lovers, don’t miss out on exploring this Woodbury gem! Get your Artisan Tour tickets online, and then meet us at 7844 Glen Crest before the end of June. Can’t wait until the weekend? Don’t worry; we’ve gathered photos of a few of our favorite spaces below!

Building Trends: Upgraded Architecture

One of the most interesting parts of being in the building industry is seeing trends, and preferences fluctuate. Some styles come and go quickly, while others are timeless. Architecture, in particular, is less prone to sweeping fads.

However, just like other features, architecture styles do ebb and flow around people’s lifestyles and tastes. Recently, our clients have been all about upgraded architecture, finishes, and accent features. From beautiful front doors to standout stairways to oversized windows and ornate ceilings – read more about our favorite elevated finishes below!

Front Doors that Make an Impression
Your entryway is the world’s first glimpse of your home – the gateway to your palace! Why not make a memorable impression and go all out with double doors, accent windows, a bold color, or an elaborate design.

Showstopping Staircases
Another fantastic spot to add more visual interest to your home is the staircase. We love a dramatic, classic, or modern twist on the stairway! After all, you go up and down your stairs multiple times a day, shouldn’t they look lovely?

Elevated Ceiling Details
Leave no surface behind is our motto – from top to bottom! In the grand tradition of classic homes, even ceilings are getting detailed attention in new builds. We can’t get enough of the stately, distinct look ceiling millwork adds.

The More Windows the Better
Even windows aren’t so simple anymore. Lately, our client’s are gravitating towards oversized windows, trendy black frames, and the more natural light, the better. You can never go wrong with extra big, bright, beautiful windows!

Design Trends: Fresh Farmhouse Style

As far as recent design trends go, few have as much interest and staying power as modern farmhouse style. Uniquely American in its approach, modern farmhouse design takes comfortable classics and elevates them in a new way.

Equal parts form and function, traditional farmhouse finishes needed to be low-maintenance and sturdy enough to stand the test of time. Soft fabrics, warm exposed wood, neutral colors, simple lines, and quality craftsmanship are all hallmarks of a farmhouse style.

Above all, we think the most appealing part of the modern farmhouse trend is how welcoming it feels. It’s not trying to be fussy or fancy; it’s just about gathering together in an inviting, easy place. What doesn’t like that?

Want to see more effortless farmhouse style? Well, you’re in luck! Visit our cozy cottage this weekend before the Spring Parade of Homes ends. And if you can’t make it, you can always enjoy the photos below too!

Parade Home: Woodbury Family Traditional

Spring Parade of Homes
February 24th through March 25th – Noon-6 pm Thursday through Sundays

The Spring Parade of Homes continues this weekend, which means it’s time to showcase more of our team’s stunning work! Located in Woodbury’s growing Twenty-One Oaks neighborhood, this family-friendly, five-bedroom, five-bathroom home is spacious but remains warm and welcoming.

Design lovers are sure to enjoy this sophisticated mix of architectural details, modern trends, and upgraded features. The center of the main level is the bright kitchen. From the massive center island to the oversized fridge to the mini butler’s pantry, it’s anything but ordinary.

While the upstairs may boast the luxurious master suite, our favorite part of this home has to be the fully outfitted lower level. Family and friends can gather in the cozy entertaining space and adjacent bar area. Or the kids can burn off some energy in the state of the art sport court while mom and dad enjoy the connected home gym.

We hope to see you over the next few weekends at this lovely home! However, if you can’t make it out, browse through the virtual tour below instead.

Home Office: Building Space to Your Style

Working from home has become the norm for many of our clients. As offices and careers are increasingly flexible interior plans have had to follow suit.

The typical home office needs of our clients range from those who work exclusively at home to family-friendly command centers.

We’ve created traditional studies that project formal professionalism to open, casual offices to tucked away desk nooks suited for everything from studying to crafty projects  – we’ve designed it all!

Our favorite ways to customize home offices with a more distinct style are bold paint, graphic wallpaper, accents lights, floating shelves, and sophisticated statement furniture.

Client Home Stories: Wendy & Chris

As we kickoff 2018, one thing we’re genuinely excited about is sharing more stories behind our client’s beautiful homes! While it’s always fun to see the finished product, sometimes it’s even more interesting to hear how and why it got there. Today, we’re starting our series with a feature on Chris and Wendy’s breathtaking Autumn Ridge “Swiss House” (their nickname for it, which we love).

Making Memories
A blended family with five kids ranging from ages 24-15, Wendy and Chris needed a home with lots of room for gathering together and hosting their busy crew! They love their layout with its many functional spaces, especially the large kitchen with a view. Wendy’s favorite memory in their home so far is watching Chris cook a fabulous meal, with their kids all congregated around the center island as the Sonos provided the soundtrack overhead.

Rustic Glam Style
When it came to creating the mood of the home, Wendy had a clear idea in mind: rustic glamor. Reflected in all of the unique material combinations such as barn wood floors and sparkly accent chandeliers, bold, but still functional, finishes echo throughout each space. Wendy and Chris also sang the praises of their Interior Designer extraordinaire, Lisa Robbins of Design Créatif! She seamlessly translated their unique style, and even hand drew designs for the bathroom cabinetry.

The Family that Lounges Together
One of Chris and Wendy’s requirements was designing fun, usable places for their family to spread out, relax, and enjoy time together. Each kid has a separate bedroom and bathroom, along with a casual upstairs lounge for watching tv or doing homework. The lower level is ready for hosting of all kinds! It boasts a sport court, cozy fireplace, games, adjacent outdoor bonfire pit, and full kitchen for baking up treats.

Front Porch Life
When asked to name their favorite spot in their home, Wendy, and Chris both agree that the front porch claims first place. As construction was happening, they liked to check out each week’s progress on Friday evenings. They’d bring along a cooler, swing their feet off the front porch, watch the sunset, and enjoy their own private happy hour.

Thanks to Chris and Wendy for sharing their building experience with us! We loved hearing about how they’re creating memories in their new home. Finally, we want to give recognition to our hard-working team. Wendy had nothing but wonderful things to say about everyone from our Architect, Dave Zweber to Custom One’s owner, Todd, to our VP of Operations, Cheryl, to Home Sale Consultant, Lori – best crew in the business!
